Where things happen

Udaipur's event map is a lot narrower than the city is. Most of what gets announced clusters into a handful of rooms: right now the busiest are Karma Seven Lakes (2 coming up) and Raffles Udaipur (2 coming up). By neighbourhood it concentrates in Hiran Magri and Lake Pichola — which is where to look first if you are deciding what part of town to be in. Institutional venues carry the talks, theatre and exhibitions; cafes, studios and bookshops carry the open mics, workshops and small gigs, and those move around far more.

There is no place the city publishes its calendar to. Udaipur's events live on Instagram — a venue or a collective posts a poster, sometimes a fortnight out and sometimes the night before, and if you do not already follow that account you never hear about it.
