Frequently asked questions
› What is the best place to go in Old City, Udaipur?
Bagore Ki Haveli, a museum, tops our list for Old City: recommended by 15 local creators, rated 4.5★ across 5,651 Google reviews. The full list below covers all 82.
› What is Old City known for?
Across the 82 places we track in Old City, the mix leans restaurants (27), places to stay (15), heritage & monuments (7), cafes (7). That mix is what the neighbourhood is for, more than any single venue.
› Which places in Old City have the best Google ratings?
Virasat - Rajasthani Folk Dance & Puppet Show (5★, 6,467 reviews), Soul Shala (5★, 109 reviews), Women's Skills Art & Cooking Class (5★, 227 reviews). Rating and recommendation are separate signals here — this page ranks by how many creators point to a place, so the order below is not the order of these three.
› Where in Old City can I find somewhere with a specific feature?
The list on this page is broken down by what each venue offers: Laptop-friendly (3), Outdoor seating (17), Rooftop (20), Groups (34), Date night (8), Quiet (12), Open late (15), Pure veg (13). Each of those comes from the venue’s own Google listing.
› How are Old City places ranked?
Each list is one ranking. A place starts from its Google rating, weighted by how many people gave it — so 4.7★ from 3,000 reviews outranks 5.0★ from 40 — and every local Udaipur creator or magazine that independently recommends it lifts it further. Every place is also scored on how strongly we would recommend it, which moves it up or down, and places found on Google are screened before they are listed: no chains, and nothing that is not what the list is about.
